Consumer’s Power Prairie

Access: limited
Acquisition: Donated, 1994
Acres: 13.10
County: Kalamazoo
Township: Alamo
Natural Features:
The preserve contains a wetland with a variety of unusual flora such as shrubby St. John’s wort. The sandy soil allows upland flora to grow in close proximity to the wetland, such as little ladies’ tresses orchids growing next to nodding ladies’ tresses orchids and lupine growing next to marsh blazing star. About half of the property is a wet forest with carpets of lizard’s tail and spring beauties.
