Pilgrim Haven Natural Area’s barrier-free walkway allows people of all abilities to get near the Lake Michigan shore. This photo was taken less than one year after installation of the walkway. Native dune grasses were planted earlier in the season to stabilize the bank and will become more dense over time, reducing erosion.
