Natural Features
Most of the property is a closed canopy forest along the southern bank of the North Branch of the Paw Paw River. The extensive forest supports a variety of wildlife and a diversity of flora, including state-listed prothonotary warblers and Eastern box turtles. The southeast corner of the preserve has a small remnant of oak savanna and open sedge meadows. The southwest corner of the preserve is old field. The area around the parking lot was planted in prairie species that are spreading out into the old field.
