Why volunteer for SWMLC?

Because we can't do it without you!

People make the difference!

SWMLC volunteers provide time, wisdom, energy, expertise, and immeasurable assistance to our conservation efforts, allowing us to broaden our resources. Your support as a volunteer will have a lasting impact on the natural and scenic features that make our region so unique.

There are many different ways to volunteer.

Volunteers are needed for stewardship, land protection, outreach, and more. Opportunities include: lopping brush, putting up signs, and pulling invasive plants; conducting species inventories; setting up and staffing information tables for events; and taking photos at special events.

Wednesday Warriors

The Wednesday Warriors are a friendly group of volunteers who have met on a near-weekly basis since 2002 to lop and chop their way through veritable jungles of invasive vegetation.

Office maintenance, stuffing envelopes, data entry, weeding the flower beds  — less glamorous volunteering for which we are grateful nonetheless!

I don’t mind – how can I help?

Thank you – we couldn’t do it without you!

Don’t thank me, it’s my organization too! This is what we all like to do, and what we care about. It’s the volunteer-driven heart that makes the organization so strong.
