We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening for Monday’s Kanoe the Kazoo/Drink One Down combo event. The sun was shining, a light breeze kep the paddlers cool, the river was gentle and sparkly, and lots of people tipped one (or more!) back in support of SWMLC. We would like to thank Tim Surprise and Arcadia Brewing Company for hosting the Drink One Down event, where they generously donated 50% of their entire day’s tap sales to SWMLC. Check their website: these folks are very active supporters of Kalamazoo area nonprofit organizations and deserve your patronage (plus their beer is tasty, too)!  Also, a big shout out to the Kalamazoo River Watershed Council for their ongoing work to improve and protect the river, and for hosting the Kanoe the Kazoo series of paddles, which help people to see just how far this river has come.

This stretch of the Kalamazoo River -- from Merrill Park in Comstock to Arcadia Brewing Company in Kalamazoo -- is slow and gentle, perfect for families and people who are just getting into paddling.
