Let’s meet some of the nearly 60 butterfly species that have been recorded at Chipman Preserve! Led by SWMLC naturalist Alice Dykstra, you can expect to learn the basics of identification and ecology – and see many beautiful butterflies. You will leave with an even deeper appreciation for these lovely – and essential – little critters!

• Binoculars will be helpful to have on this hike. Bring your favorite pair or borrow some of ours.

• There are no restrooms at this nature preserve.

• Dogs are typically welcome at SWMLC preserves, but we ask that you leave your furry friend at home for this guided nature walk.
