Join SWMLC naturalists Abbie Bristol and Alice Dykstra at Black River Preserve’s rolling hills to explore one of springtime’s prettiest celebrities – woodland spring ephemerals. These forest floor plants take advantage of the sun’s warmth to flower and set seed before the leaf canopy shades them out. On this guided nature walk, we’ll see what’s flowering and learn about the unique ecology of these beautiful spring blooms. If the timing is right, we might see woodland superstars like blood root, spring beauties, trout lilies, and more!
